Tax Cheat Charlie
House Resolution 805 which would have removed tax cheat Charlie Rangel from his chairmanship of the House Ways and Means committee was defeated this past week. For those who are unaware this committee is the chief tax writing committee of the House. To make things clear to the public we now have the Chairman of this committee, a tax cheat,that writes tax law and we have Timothy Geithner, a tax cheat, who is the Secretary of the Treasury and is responsible for overseeing the enforcement of these laws. There is something seriously wrong with this scenario.
After reviewing the vote on this resolution it turns out that our 5th District lapdog Tom Perriello voted against this resolution by voting to refer it back to committee instead of passing it. I refer to Tom as Nancy’s lapdog because Rangel and Pelosi are close allies and Perriello would not want to go against the Speaker’s wishes. Our congressman says he stands for ethics and transparency but when it comes to actual votes appears to stand for neither.
