I believe a true conservative is a person who believes that the constitution is the supreme law of the land and is not a document that is subject to continuous interpretation to justify an agenda. A conservative is a person who believes in a limited federal government and individual rights that are guaranteed by the founding documents. A conservative is a person who supports free open market capitalism and knows that government does not grant rights but is there to protect and defend those rights.

He already is a career politician. Graduated from law school goes to work for the state, runs for local office, runs for state delegate, then state senator and now congress. Can’t get any more career than that. I think we have had enough of these types in office and don’t need any more.

Hmmm… If he pledges to self-limit his tenure to x (not 15) terms I’ll consider him. If not, I will assume he wants to make a career of it and is therefore not the type of person I want to support.

The Democrats have spent the last 4 months saying Bob McDonnell was a far right wing candidate now they are trying to say he is a moderate. I hope the Republicans of the 5th district will take a good look at the election we just had and put forth a candidate that is a true conservative.Tom Perriello only won by a few votes if we put forth a true conservative candidate he will lose by a wide margin.
