RINO or Democrat What’s the Difference?

There are two views when it comes to nominating Republican candidates; one side says we need to nominate middle of the road candidates in order to attract independents, the other side says we need truly conservative candidates in order to keep the votes and get our country back to its’ founding principles. I agree with the last statement.

According to a blogger on Hot Air once the economy improves the independents that have moved to the right will move back to the middle and leave the conservative candidates on the side of the road. The theory that Republicans need to be more moderate is flawed. This is what caused their problems in the first place. Ever since the Republicans failed with the contract for America they have been in decline. Bigger government, more spending and bowing to the Democrats on major legislation has driven away conservatives and independents.

At this point in time the conservatives’ greatest allies are the Democrats. They have taken over all branches of the government, hold large majorities in both houses, have gone on a wild spending spree and have quickly moved towards a more intrusive state. Independents did not vote for this kind of change and now realize what the Democratic agenda really is. More Americans then ever consider themselves as being conservative; therefore if the Republican Party is smart enough to nominate true conservatives even in good times they will be able to win at the ballot box.

To the Republican Party I will give a short definition of a conservative in case you have forgotten. A conservative is someone who believes in lower taxes, smaller government, personal rights, state rights and understands that it is the people who make this country strong not the government.
