Is McPadden’s Fundraising Bombing?

Lately we have been hearing about all the grassroots base that the McPadden Campaign has been developing but according to a recent email that supposed foundation hasn’t been translating to financial support. I say this judging by a recent email sent out looking to raise $1200 for a video, the email “money bomb” issued by one of his supporters states: “We need to raise $1200 this week to produce a professional video which will introduce Mike McPadden….We have made a good start already to the $1200 total, thanks to a couple generous contributions.”

I am not sure why this campaign would be issuing this type of email so early in the race. Is their fund raising going so poorly that they can’t afford to produce a $1200 video? Money bombs are usually used at more critical times such as closer to an election when you are making that one final push to put you over the top not at the beginning of a race. This appeal for dollars and McPaddens hesitancy on reporting the last quarter fund raising totals would lead me to believe that the financial news cannot be too much to brag about. I may be wrong but if they had done a stellar job of raising money they would have released their figures in hopes of discouraging some of the less successful candidates. However the McPadden camp may be trying to deceive everyone into thinking they are hurting for money and will come out with a big surprise for everyone today which is the last day to report your campaign finances for the previous quarter.

BRG. Please check your junk folder again. You either really have a problem with your junk folder, or you must be blocking comments. Not only is my comment not posted, but at this point, there are no others either. Usually, blogs have a link to comments. It displays the number of comments made. I don’t see that on your blog.

HEY BRG, please check your junk folder AGAIN. I have posted the message below 5X, but it is not appearing on your site.

Blue Ridge Guy, you can keep guessing as to what is going on.

Actually, this is an indication of the grassroots support of the campaign. I am not part of the fundraising effort, but I wanted to get involved personally in promoting Mike’s campaign. I wanted to do my own thing, which is what this little project is. I am not a big money guy, nor or any of my friends. I am a Tea Party guy. I was at the Charlottesville April Tea Party, and also on Court Square on Independence Day. I was among the million or so people in DC on9.12. I was there again for Michele Bachmann’s protest, and again for Code Red in December. From what I have seen, most of the Tea Party people do not have lots of money, but they are very committed and they have lots of votes. So, if anyone has any interest in this, you can click this link to see the original post relating to this:

Also, you can visit my own little blog at: http://ourfreedomrising.blogspot.com/

Thanks, for helping to get the word out BRG. I suppose you will still be wondering if this is a cagey rope-a-dope to deceive people about what is happening.

Hello! Anyone home? Are you going to let me reply? Why are my comments being blocked?

It’s because McPadden isn’t exactly a “big money” candidate. He doesn’t have connections and party machinery behind him (Hurt), nor does he have the ability to self-finance (Verga), and he doesn’t attract the SoCons who throw money at the candidate who positions themselve as THE Christian conservative who says “down with abortion and gay marriage” (Morton).

He simply attracts your average person (who, in current times, really can’t afford to donate to campaigns). These are the people who want smaller government and more liberty. Unfortunately, most of those average voters don’t know he exists because he doesn’t have the money to advertise and promote himself…a real Catch 22.

Why does this blog down anyone in the race except Verga ? Verga came out of the debate looking like a 3rd grader trying to write a thesis. Verga might have plenty of cash but in a debate with Tom Perriello he would come up looking very stupid.

all Verga has is some money (not enough) and his attack poodle Hay. What a joke.
