Why does this blog down anyone in the race except Verga ? Verga came out of the debate looking like a 3rd grader trying to write a thesis. Verga might have plenty of cash but in a debate with Tom Perriello he would come up looking very stupid.

It’s because McPadden isn’t exactly a “big money” candidate. He doesn’t have connections and party machinery behind him (Hurt), nor does he have the ability to self-finance (Verga), and he doesn’t attract the SoCons who throw money at the candidate who positions themselve as THE Christian conservative who says “down with abortion and gay marriage” (Morton).

He simply attracts your average person (who, in current times, really can’t afford to donate to campaigns). These are the people who want smaller government and more liberty. Unfortunately, most of those average voters don’t know he exists because he doesn’t have the money to advertise and promote himself…a real Catch 22.

Blue Ridge Guy, you can keep guessing as to what is going on.

Actually, this is an indication of the grassroots support of the campaign. I am not part of the fundraising effort, but I wanted to get involved personally in promoting Mike’s campaign. I wanted to do my own thing, which is what this little project is. I am not a big money guy, nor or any of my friends. I am a Tea Party guy. I was at the Charlottesville April Tea Party, and also on Court Square on Independence Day. I was among the million or so people in DC on9.12. I was there again for Michele Bachmann’s protest, and again for Code Red in December. From what I have seen, most of the Tea Party people do not have lots of money, but they are very committed and they have lots of votes.
